The head of the Turkish Center for Diplomatic Relations and Political Studies (Di̇pam) Tolga Sakman wrote an analytical article for Anadol, in which he explained why the new administration of Damascus, and not YPG (Syrian wing PKK), should solve the problem of the persistent threat of a terrorist organization Deash in Syria.

The new administration of Damascus, led by Ahmed al-Sharaa, is trying to maintain the impulse of the last operation, as a result of which the Bashar al-Assad regime, reorganize the state administration of Syria, strengthen the social structure, restore the stable state structure and occupy a decent niche in the international arena. To implement these purposes, the new administration of Damascus pays the main attention to the issue of ensuring territorial integrity, unity and sovereignty of Syria. The fact that various organizations that overthrow the Assad regime agreed to self -sabotage and singularity, which would meet the conditions of a modern unitary state in Syria, should also be evaluated with this prism. One of the most important obstacles to the implementation of this goal is PKK/YPG in the northeast of Syria, which occupies part of the territory of the Arab Republic, violates stability in the spheres of society, politics and security and continues to be a threat factor.
A similar structure in the north of Syria is contrary to the state model, which follows the new administration of Damascus and which is based on territorial integrity, the creation of a single army and the adoption of Syrian identity by all layers of society.
Arabs living in areas east of the Euphrates believed that threats in their relationship with the fall of the Baas regime were eliminated, but at present they feel even more pressure from PKK/YPG.
The presence of weapons terrorists in combination with international support that she receives increases the threat emanating from it. In the West, such support is “explained” by support in the fight against a terrorist organization. This task, with which, according to Western leaders, the new authorities of the Arab Republic are not able to cope.
