The rich religious, geographical and demographic heritage of Anatolia was reflected in colorful motives and embroidery on women’s clothing for representatives of this region. Each item of clothing, which varies depending on climatic conditions, beliefs, cultural and geographical characteristics of the region, is a work of art and attracts attention.
In particular, the costume of representatives of the region is famous for a large number of details in the form of Anatolian mosaic.
Over time, traditional clothing reduced its positions in everyday life and replaced it with everyday clothes that meet the requirements of modern times.
In order to maintain a variety of traditional costume, the Folk Dance Federation of Turkey (Thof) organized a folk dance competition, in which it was possible to see the unique features of each region of Turkey.
In an interview with Anadol, the head of Thof Suat Aksu said that the Federation seeks to convey to the young generation the rich heritage of past years, at least through the scene.
According to him, thanks to the work of the Federation and the competitions held by it, a much larger number of people can get acquainted with traditional games and costumes.
In Anatolia, many folklore games and costumes have yet to be opened, he noted.
In turn, the chairman of the Council of Costume of the Folk Dance Federation of the folk dance Federation Murat Faruk Ojak said that women’s clothing is a product of efforts and accumulated traditions.
“We are talking about a rich diversity that reflects our Anatolian culture,” he said.
Ojak noted that even between the center of Turkish Sivas and the villages of the region have places of differences in a suit.
“When you look at Kuthesu, you see the influence of the Ottoman Empire, Bursa is even richer. Going down to the Mediterranean Sea, the clothes look more colorful,” Odzhak said.
According to him, the climate, political structure and fashion of the time in which society lives.
forms clothes.
“The Federation strives to convey to this day folk dance costumes, which are presented in wide expanses from Edirne to Kars, from Sinop to anamur,” he added.
