Israel and the European Union signed an agreement on the export of Israeli gas to Europe, TASS reports.
The signing of the document took place today, June 15, as part of the last day of the visit of the Chairman of the European Commission Ursula von der Lyain in Israel.
Earlier, Italian Prime Minister Mario Draga, during a joint press conference with an Israeli colleague, Naftali Bennett said that the supply of natural gas from the Eastern Mediterranean will help reduce European dependence on Russia in the energy sector. The press service of the Israeli Prime Minister later clarified that the meeting discussed the possibility of supplying natural gas to Europe through Egypt.
