The ban on import of Russian gas into the European Union can be introduced by the eighth or ninth package of sanctions, said the head of the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure of Estonia Rinin Sikkut.
“Although the embargo on Russian gas is not, we still support it. Maybe it will be in the eighth package of sanctions, or in the ninth package. The war continues, and [introduced] sanctions were not enough,”– The minister said upon arrival at an unscheduled meeting of the EU Council at the level of energy ministers.
The minister noted that in different countries of Europe the situation with gas and its consumption is different, and the population of these countries “cannot be left to live in the cold.”
