The Minister of National Defense of Turkey Yashar Guler held negotiations with representatives of the Iraqi authorities during a visit to Baghdad.
According to the defense department of Turkey, Guller was accepted by Iraqi President Abdullatif Muhammad Jemal Rashid. A meeting was also held with Prime Minister Iraq Muhammad Shiya Sabbar Hatim al-Sudani.
Further, the official ceremony of the meeting of the Turkish delegation led by Guller was held to the Iraq Ministry of Defense. One-on-one meeting was held in an expanded format with the Minister of Foreign Affairs Iraq Sabit Muhammed Said Ryza al-Abbasi.
During negotiations with the Iraqi authorities, aspects of the bilateral interaction of Ankara and Baghdad in the field of security were discussed. An exchange of views on topical issues of regional security took place.
Guller’s visit to the Iraqi capital continues. The Minister is accompanied by the head of the General Staff of the Turkish Armed Forces, brigade General Metin Gurak.
