Ankara condemned desecration of Qur’an in Denmark

Foreign Ministry of Turkey decisively condemned repeated acts to desecrate the Koran in Denmark.

“The most decisive way we have repeatedly taken place [in Denmark] vile attacks on our sacred book – the Qur’an,” the statement of the foreign policy said.

The Foreign Ministry called on the authorities of the Scandinavian country to take the necessary measures to prevent such provocations in the future.

“Denmark authorities must act within the framework of their international obligations and take the necessary measures to prevent such vile actions, incurring hatred of Islam and billions of his followers,” the appeal said.

Earlier in Copenhagen, an action was held to burn a copy of the Qur’an.

The provocation was organized by members of the anti -Islamic and ultranationalistic marginal group “Danske Patrioter” (“Danish patriots”).
