Opera singer Anna Netrebko is not going to perform in Russia in the near future. This was reported by the portal “Culture of the VRN”, quoting the interview of non -reck of the German publication Zeit Online.
“At the moment, I have no plans to sing in Russia, even at the White Nights festival in St. Petersburg, because I do not think that now is a suitable time,” says the opera diva. At the same time, she “is looking forward to the opportunity to sing again in Russia as soon as circumstances allow.”
The singer emphasizes her neutrality in relation to the Russian-Ukrainian conflict. “In Russia, people are outraged, they think that I betrayed my homeland … I am not a traitor to my homeland, and I am not against Ukraine. I try to remain a man,” she emphasizes.
