In Azerbaijan, the process of returning the former forced immigrants to the restored city of Fizuli, carried out in accordance with the order of the country’s president Ilham Aliyev, continues.
On Monday, September 11, the next group of immigrants was sent to the city of Fizuli from the Gobu Park 3 residential complex in the Garadagsky district of Baku.
At this stage, 24 more families move to Fizuli – 92 people.
Thus, there will be a permanent residence in the city of 119 families, or 441 people. Families who have moved to fizuli will settle in rebuilt houses.
From August 23, 1993 to November 9, 2020, the city of Fizuli and most of the district were under the Armenian occupation. During this time, Fizuli turned into a ghost city.
On October 17, 2020, during the Second Karabakh war, Fizuli returned to Azerbaijan. After the victory in the 44-day war, Azerbaijan began to large-scale restoration and construction work in territories liberated from occupation, including phizuli.
In July 2023, President Ilham Aliyev established on October 17 as the day of the city of Fizuli and decided to solemnly celebrate it.
