The ex-head of the Main Directorate for the Combating of the Transnational Organized Crime of the abolished Ministry of National Security, Major General Subakhir Gurbanov, was returned to another part of the previously confiscated property.
As the Haqqin.az correspondent reports, we are talking about two apartments and a gas station in the village of Gyzylavar, the Masallinsky district. The decision was made at a meeting of the Supreme Court, held under the chairmanship of Ilkin Rajabov on the basis of the appeal. The court ruled that this property was not acquired by criminal means.
Thus, part of the decision of the Military Collegium of the Baku Court of Appeal of 2019 was canceled.
Note that earlier the Supreme Court returned Gurbanov a confiscated cottage in the Baku village of Novikhani.
Subakhir Gurbanov was arrested in 2015 along with several employees of the former MNB. He was sentenced to 14 years in prison, but three years ago the ex-general was released in amnesty.
