Another city in Italy declared houses for one euro

The Italian Commune Pratola Peligny, located in the Abruzzo region, announced the sale of houses for one euro, reports Idealista. The settlement is located at half an hour from the major ski resorts and at the same distance from the coast of the Adriatic Sea.

Sale initiated the commune administration led by the lawyer Antonella di Nino. She joined the position of the head of the city four years ago, and from the very beginning one of the priorities of its tasks was the revival of abandoned territories. A census was conducted by the empty houses, they had about 600 in all. Officials with the help of volunteers found owners of such buildings. Many of them simply refused their property, without expressing no desire to interfere in the further fate of abandoned houses. It was decided to bring objects to the market at a symbolic price of one euro.

The first acts of the sale and sale of houses within the program will be signed in July, said the publication of Antonella di Nino. Buyers will oblige work to restore buildings for three years. In the future, they will be able to use at home as they want – for their own accommodation or for commercial purposes.

Earlier it was reported on a similar program, launched in Troina’s commune on the Italian island of Sicily. The city sells houses at a price of 1 euro, providing customers with money for the repair of housing. Those who agree to the purchase of buildings in good condition, the mayor’s office will distribute grants in the amount of up to 8 thousand euros.
