A ban on entry into the Czech Republic for Russian citizens with a tourist Schengen visa entered into force on October 25, reports Moscow Times.
Earlier, the Czech Foreign Minister Jan Lipavski said that Russians will not be able to get to the country through the Czech International Airport for the purpose of tourism, sports or culture. According to the official, the government made such a decision unanimously.
According to the minister, the Czech Republic should also refuse a visa to the Russians who leave mobilization and request a shelter. With the opinion of the minister, the president of the country Milos Zeman did not agree. Zeman compared the Russians who ask for refuge with Ukrainian refugees and emphasized that they do not pose a threat to the security of the Czech Republic.
The Czech Republic has become the sixth country that closed the borders for Russians. Previously, this was done by Latvia, Lithuania, Estonia, Finland and Poland.
