In the capital of Turkmenistan, the 7th meeting of the intergovernmental Turkmen-Turkish commission on economic cooperation was held, the Turkmenistannistan today (TDH) reports.

The meeting was attended by heads of leading ministries and departments of Turkmenistan and the Turkish delegation, led by Vice President of Turkey, Jevid Yilmaz.

During the meeting, the participants got acquainted with the economic position of the two countries, regional and multilateral issues, as well as the implementation of measures provided for by the work plan of the intergovernmental Turkmen-Turkish commission on economic cooperation adopted on the basis of the Protocol of the sixth meeting.
Speaking at the meeting, the head of the Turkish delegation noted that the results of the next meeting will contribute to the further expansion of interstate cooperation.
Among the current areas of interaction, such spheres important for both states were marked as trade, economics and investment, banking, energy, transport and logistics, industry and technology, education and science, healthcare, culture and tourism, nature protection and nature, and the protection of nature and tourism Urban planning, agriculture, sports.
Also, as part of the meeting, a wide range of issues related to the development of cooperation between Turkmenistan and Turkey in the energy sector was considered.
In particular, the parties discussed the possibilities of the supply of Turkmen natural gas to the Turkish market. In this context, the relevance of the gas supply project from Turkmenistan to Turkey through the territory of Iran was emphasized in this context.
In addition, members of the commission outlined a number of specific steps to diversify interaction in all promising areas.
Based on the results of the meeting of the commission, the final protocol was signed.
