In the Antalya -Tourist “capital” of Turkey – there is an increase in the reservations from the UK and Poland, which were among the countries that have sent the most tourists in 2024.
According to the regional cultural and tourism department, last year Antalya visited 17278103 foreign tourists, which is 8 percent higher than 2023. At the same time, 1,574,167 tourists from this number arrived from the UK and 1,260,000 from Poland. Thus, Great Britain took third place in the ranking of countries that sent the largest number of tourists, and Poland – the fourth.
The level of booking from the UK and Poland pleases representatives of the Turin industry this year.
In an interview with anadol correspondent, the head of the Association of Professional Hotel Managers (POYD) Hakan Saatchioglu said that last year the region visited a record number of tourists, and the current year also promises a large influx.
According to the head of the Association, the indicators in January and February practically coincide with the same period last year.
“The incoming reservations look very encouraging. We get serious reservations, especially after April. The growth was 8-12 percent compared to last year. In particular, reservation comes from Europe, a lot from the UK and Poland. We expect growth in these two markets and this year,” Saatchioglu said.
He recalled that last year the most tourists arrived from Russia, while about 4 million Russians preferred rest in Antalya.
“This year is also expected in this market. Usually Russians are booking at the last minute, but this year there are those who carry out booking in advance,” said the head of Poyd.
Saatchioglu also attracted attention to difficulties associated with the lack of staff in the tourism industry.
About 300 thousand people are employed in the tourist sector of Antalya, but this is not enough, ”he said.
The head of the association noted that representatives of the tourist sector are taking various initiatives to attract young people, including students of the corresponding faculties.
