Representatives of the five countries – the USA, Japan, Canada, Australia and New Zealand left the meeting of the ministers of the Asia -Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) during the performance of the head of the Ministry of Economy of Russia Maxim Reshetnikov. This was reported by the Japanese agency Kyodo with reference to sources in the government.
According to the agency, this is how the meeting participants expressed their protest regarding the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
APEC includes 19 countries. The ministerial meeting opened on May 21 in Bangkok, the Russian minister takes part in it in person.
