Antique city Olympos – the second most important port city after Faselis on the southern coast of the Antalya region
The exact date of the base is unknown. Olympos is mentioned on the coins of the Lycian Union, minted between 167 and 168 BC. The city is one of the six cities with three votes in the Lycian Union.
The ruins of the ancient city, preserved to this day, belong to the Hellenistic, Roman and Byzantine periods.
During the excavations in the ancient city, mosaics were found with the tomb of Captain Evdemos, dated to the 3rd century, as well as mosaics related to the V and VI centuries.
