Araza Alizade – 70

Chairman of the Social Democratic Party of Azerbaijan, Deputy Araz Alizade celebrates the 70th anniversary. Politician was born in Baku on November 3, 1951 in the family of scientists.

In 1974, he graduated from the Faculty of Oriental Studies of Azerbaijan State University, after which he worked as a translator in Afghanistan. Since 1979, he worked as a junior researcher at the Institute of History of the Academy of Sciences of the Ukrainian SSR

In 1988, with the advent of Armenian separatism in Karabakh, Araz Alizade was included in the political struggle for a fair solution to this problem. He was one of the organizers of the first mass rallies in defense of Karabakh on May 16 and 18, 1988.

Since 1989 he was chairman, and since 1995 to date, the co-chairman of the Social Democratic Party of Azerbaijan. Since 1991, with rare exceptions participates in the events of the socialist international.

In 1991-1995 He was a deputy of the Supreme Council of Azerbaijan. In 1991, a member of the Republican Council of Defense of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

At the parliamentary elections in November 2015, Araz Alizade was elected to Milli Majlis Azerbaijan.
