The Ukrainian army strengthens fortifications on the border with Belarus built in April, said the NBC correspondent, who visited the construction site of the fortifications.
In the forest located five minutes from the border, the Armed Forces strengthen 1.5 -meter earthen walls with boards, every few meters of logs form a kind of shelter – an impromptu roof covered with branches and earth for camouflage, describes the correspondent of the publication.
The strengthening of defense takes place against the backdrop of joint exercises of aviation of Russia and Belarus, which began on January 16. They work out joint patrolling of space along the border, aircraft support for troops and landing. The exercises will continue until February 1.
The next attack of the Russian army can occur anywhere along the front line stretching for thousands of kilometers, says senior lieutenant Anton.
“We are building these fortifications in all zones of our responsibility in order to be able to defeat and carry out counterattacks. Potential offensive from Belarus can begin from from anywhere,” he said.
