Armenia turned to Georgia with a request to open a ferry crossing with Russia due to a large workload at the Upper Lars checkpoint, reports news.
It is noted that due to the loading of transit goods on the Upper Lars, it is often delayed for several weeks. In Yerevan, it was noted that Armenia has no access to the sea and traditionally uses Georgia ports to conduct international trade. The Georgian Sea Transport Agency reminded of the country’s obligations under the International Convention on the Transit trade of states that did not have access to the sea.
