“Armenia after a tripartite statement transferred the remains of bodies in a mixed form, presumably belonging to 138 citizens who were missing in the First Karabakh war.” This was stated by the Secretary of the State Commission of Azerbaijan for prisoners of war, hostages and missing citizens Ismail Akhundov.
According to him, as a result of military aggression against Azerbaijan, 3890 citizens of Azerbaijan disappeared during the first Karabakh war.
“Of these, 3 171 – a soldier, 719 – civilians. Among civilians are 71 minor children, 267 women and 326 elderly people. Of the total number of people who went missing during the First Karabakh war, 872 people, including those, including 29 children, 98 women and 112 old people were captured or remained in the occupied territories. Prisoners and hostages, subsequently released, claimed that they saw these people alive. Armenia throughout the entire period of conflict hidden information about them from international organizations and evaded from providing information about their future fate. Only after a tripartite statement signed on November 10, 2020, the opposite party handed over the mixed remains of bodies allegedly belonging to 138 people from among the missing in the First Karabakh war, ”I. Akhundov said.
