The Government of Armenia in 2022 intends to increase the country’s defense budget by 11%, reports TASS with reference to the statements by Prime Minister Armenia Nikola Pashinyan. Thus, the defense budget will be 345 billion drams, that is 720 million dollars.
“We intend to create a professional army, but we will make it smooth, thoughtful steps,” said Armenian prime minister.
According to Pashinyan, in the new security conditions, the protection of the country’s borders remains the main priority.
“The republic develops its aircraft not for aggression … Armenia does not intend to conquer territories,” Pashinyan stressed.
