Armenia expects Turkey to establish diplomatic relations and the opening of borders as a result of a dialogue with the participation of special representatives of the two countries. On the eve of the first meeting of the Special Representatives of Turkey and Armenia, scheduled for January 14, responding to the questions “Armenpress”, said the press secretary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of RA Vaan Unianyan.
According to him, the expectations of Armenia from this dialogue are the same as in the early 1990s.
“We calculate that diplomatic relations between Armenia and Turkey will be established as a result of the process, and the border between the two countries will be opened,” he said.
Unanyang also stated that the meeting of Special Representatives of Armenia and Turkey in Moscow will be held with the Russian side.
“In essence, this first meeting will be cognitive. It is difficult to expect that as a result of one meeting, you can achieve tangible results, but it will launch the process,” the spokesman for the Foreign Ministry added.
