Signing the agreement on the world and the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan is possible by the end of 2023. This was stated by the Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, speaking at a meeting of the European Parliament, reports TASS.
“If the principles I have listed are officially confirmed, then the signing of an agreement on the world and the normalization of relations between Armenia and Azerbaijan will be highly realistic by the end of this year,” he said.
During his speech, Pashinyan among the main principles of settlement called, in particular, confirmation of the territorial integrity of Armenia. The Prime Minister noted that he expects confirmation of the principles at a meeting with the President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, who should take place in October in Brussels with the participation of representatives of the European Union.
“We must decisively move towards the world. For this, I need political will. I have such a will, the Armenian government and most in parliament. At the same time, the international community, the European Union and the countries of the region should support us in the fact that To use this opportunity, ”he added.
Pashinyan said that Yerevan is ready to ensure the safety of Azerbaijani cargo on its territory. “We are ready to ensure the safety of citizens of Azerbaijan and Azerbaijani goods in our territory in the case of the opening of regional communications based on the sovereignty of the countries they pass through,” he said.
