Artist Abbas Kyazimov died from Covid-19

In one of the Moscow hospitals, an outstanding Azerbaijani artist and an active representative of the Azerbaijani Diaspora Abbas Kyazimov died.

As it became known to haqqin.az, the artist died from coronavirus.

Abbas Kyazimov was born in 1956 in Baku. He graduated from the Baku Art School, and then the Institute for Arts. Since 1979, he took part in many art exhibitions in Baku, Moscow and abroad with such famous masters as Mikhail Shemyakin, Ernst Unknown, Anatoly Zverev, and others. His personnel exhibitions took place in Washington, Cannes and other cities of the world.

Abbas Kyazimov – a member of the Union of Artists of Azerbaijan, the International Federation of Artists, the Creative Union of Artists of Russia, and his works are in the meetings of the State Tretyakov Gallery, in many museums and private collections of the world. Abbas Kyazimov also awarded the gratefulness of the Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation “For an active part in the russian life of Russia and a great personal contribution to the consolidation of international creative ties.”

He is a bright representative of the Absheron School of Painting, the author of the unique technique of “carpet style”, which is the synthesis of the multifaceted culture of the East and the classical school of visual art. In his work Kyazimov united the traditions of the ancient and modern art of the Caucasus. His paintings cause a feeling of a holiday, a fabulous theatrical action. They are present as symbols of eternal life on the ground of the birds, turtles, horses, other animals. Their images are iconic forms of the artist uses to express his attitude towards the world around. Pictures from the “Red and Black” cycle differ from bright, colorful canvases, made in the technique of “carpet style”, and in content, and on the intense, contrasting colors.
