A parliamentary meeting organized by the Inter-Parliamentary Union and Milli Majlis will be held in Baku on November 16-17, as part of the 29th session of the conference of the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29).

According to the press service of the Milli Majlis, 92 delegations from 66 countries and international organizations are expected to participate in the event, about 330 people, including 167 parliamentarians, including 12 speakers and vice-spikers.
During the meeting, it is planned to discuss a number of relevant topics, including the “real consequences of climate change”, “The role of parliaments in strengthening measures to reduce emissions”, “Development of global architecture of climatic financing”, “Improving resistance to climate change”, as well as issues ensuring food security and healthcare in the conditions of changing climate.
In addition, the meeting will consider issues of managing the population’s movement due to climate change, as well as the use of technologies to combat climatic changes.

During the parliamentary meeting, bilateral meetings of the participants will also take place.
