As Result Of An Earthquake Of Magnitude 6.3 In Ecuador, 20 People Were Injured

As a result of an earthquake of magnitude 6.3, which occurred the day before in the province of Esmeraldas in the north-west of Ecuador, at least 20 people were injured.

According to the National Secretariat of Risk Management (SNGR), underground tremors were felt in a number of cities, including Ela-alpharo, attack, muins, kininade, Rio Verde and San Lorenso.

According to official figures, the damage was recorded in 60 buildings – some of them formed cracks, and individual houses partially collapsed, which can be seen on the frames published on social networks.

The epicenter of the earthquake was 20 kilometers north-west of the Esmeraldas province, the hearth lay at a depth of 35 kilometers, the US Geological Service (USGS) reports.

The authorities have begun restoration work – 80% of the region has already been provided with power supply.
