Aselsan Equips Azerbaijani Roads With Smart Weighing Systems

The ASELSAN Turkish defense corporation equips the roads in Azerbaijan with high -speed weighing systems.

From the first years of independence of Azerbaijan, Aselsan has been implementing projects in the country both in the field of defense industry and in civilian industries.

recently introduced in Azerbaijan, the technology of high -speed weighing, developed by ASELSAN, attracts attention as an effective and environmentally friendly solution that reduces transportation costs.

These systems installed on the roads allow you to measure and record speed, license plate, weight, width, length, height, vehicle type and number of axes of passing vehicles without stopping or slowing down.

Thanks to this system, trucks are weighed electronically, without reducing the speed of movement along the highway. Previously, trucks had to stop and stand in line to drive through weight stations. Now drivers do not even notice this process.

In Azerbaijan, the Aselsan high -speed weighing systems are already operating at 6 stations, and by the end of the year their number will increase to 17. In the near future, it is planned to establish a total of 51 stations.

ASELSAN high -speed weighing systems save 52 million manats to Azerbaijan

Aselsan CEO Baku Ozgur Kyryum, in an interview with Anadolu, noted that thanks to the technologies introduced by Azerbaijan, the transport has become faster, efficient and environmentally friendly.

According to him, these systems developed by Aselsan provide incredible efficiency. “On the M1 highway (connecting Baku with the Russian border), an average of 75 thousand hours and 450 thousand liters of fuel are saved annually. The stations on this road allow reducing carbon dioxide by 1200 tons per year, which is equivalent to cleaning the air with 48 thousand trees,” – He said the kyryum.

Aselsan General Director Baku also emphasized that thanks to these systems, additional costs of road repair caused by overloading vehicles will decrease by 50%.

“About 15 million manat (9 million dollars) of state funds will be saved on the M1 highway. Within the framework of our two -stage project, which will cover the entire territory of Azerbaijan and provides for the installation of 51 stations, we will be able to save about 52 million manat (30 million dollars ) a year, ”he said.

Reminding that Azerbaijan will accept the 29th conference of the parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 29) from November 11 to 22, Kyryum emphasized that high-speed weighing systems play an effort to reduce carbon emissions.
