Syrian Foreign Minister Faisal Mikdad will fly to Moscow on August 23 for negotiations with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov. This was announced by the SANA agency with reference to sources.
The visit of the Syrian high -ranking diplomat was commented on by the deputy director of the Department of Information and Press of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Ivan Nechaev. He noted that the parties will discuss issues of the regional agenda, the situation in Syria and around it. “It is supposed to discuss issues of the agenda of the Astana format, including taking into account the tripartite (Russia -Iran -Turkey – Ed.) The summit that took place in Tehran on July 19,” he said at a briefing.
Ivan Nechaev added that the ministers will consider the state and development of multifaceted ties of Russia and Syria.
