Kazakhstan President Kasym-Zhomart Tokaev held a telephone conversation with the Uzbek colleague Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the Akorda press service on Tuesday, April 23.
Tokaev thanked Mirziyoyev and the people of Uzbekistan for the fraternal solidarity and assisted in connection with floods in a number of regions of Kazakhstan, follows from the message.
The heads of the two states discussed the further strengthening of the Kazakh-Uzbek strategic partnership, as well as the implementation of previously reached agreements.
The dynamic development of bilateral relations and cooperation at the regional level is emphasized.
Leaders also exchanged views on topical issues of the regional and international agenda.
According to Kazinform, Uzbekistan previously sent humanitarian aid to the victims of the floods in Kazakhstan. 15 trucks with food products, clothes and the necessary equipment were sent from Uzbekistan to Karaganda. The goods will be delivered to six regions injured from floods.
Earlier, in a television show, Tokaev said that the mass floods that began in March in Kazakhstan have become the largest natural disaster in the republic over the past 80 years. A local emergency regime was announced due to floods in ten regions of the country.
