Astana Discussed Key Aspects Of Reform Of Justice System

President of Kazakhstan Kasym-Zhomart Tokaev adopted the head of the International Association for Judicial Administration (IACA) Pamela Harris.

According to the press service of the Kazakh leader, Tokaev congratulated Harris on the election of a responsible post and expressed confidence that her experience would give a new impulse of the organization’s activity.

The head of the Kazakh state emphasized that ensuring the rule of law and reform of the judicial system play a key role in building a legal state.

“We carry out extremely important reforms aimed at promoting the law and order in Kazakhstan. We are convinced that the rule of law should be implemented. I believe that this is very important for ensuring the stability and prosperity of our country. Therefore, I am counting on the further cooperation of the International Association with Kazakhstan and our judicial system,” the president

said.

In turn, the head of IAA highly appreciated legal reforms carried out in Kazakhstan and expressed readiness to continue interaction.

According to her, the separation of the functions of the judicial administration and the Supreme Court is one of the most effective decisions in world practice. Pamela Harris noted that the association is aimed at strengthening ties with Kazakhstan, and also spoke about the active participation of representatives of the National Judicial Administration in the work of IAS.

During the conversation, the key aspects of the reform of the justice system were considered. Particular attention was paid to the expansion of interaction between the judicial authorities, the prospects of applying digital decisions and artificial intelligence in legal proceedings.
