Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan, Jaykhun Bayramov and Murat Nurtleu, discussed strategic partnership.
“During the meeting, issues arising from the relations of strategic partnership between Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan were discussed, the situation in the region in the post -conflict period, as well as the current state of the peace process,” the Azerbaijan Foreign Ministry said in a statement.
During the meeting, Bayramov noted that Azerbaijan expressed satisfaction with the expansion of a high -level relationship with the countries of Central Asia, including Kazakhstan.
The Foreign Minister brought to attention that in addition to bilateral partnerships in the field of economics, trade, investment, energy security, transport and communications and other directions, broad prospects also promise cooperation in regional and international platforms, in particular, as part of the organization of Turkic states .
The minister informed the Kazakhstan side in detail about the preparation for the 29th session of the conference of the parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29), which will be held in Azerbaijan this year. He noted that COP29 is a new platform for cooperation.
Bayramov, speaking of the current situation, capabilities and challenges in the region in the post -conflict period, thanked the Kazakhstan side for the support and activity in the promotion of the bilateral peace process between Azerbaijan and Armenia.
“The confidence was expressed that today’s negotiations, in turn, will contribute to this process against the background of a recent agreement reached between the division commissions,” the report said.
The meeting also took an exchange of views on other issues representing mutual interest.
