The shipbuilding enterprises of the Astrakhan region are provided with orders by 50 billion rubles, said the Governor of the Region Igor Babushkin on January 17 during a meeting with the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.
“… The main direction that is interested in our neighbors is the development of the North-South international transport corridor,” said Babushkin, according to the placement of orders in the ship’s shipyards, neighboring states.
“So, we are already doing earthlocks for Kazakhstan, with Azerbaijan we are discussing the prospect of construction on our shipyards of two dry cargoers and two tankers, and Turkmenistan is interested in auxiliary fleet for shelf fields,” the governor explained.
