at least 26 military died as a result of an armed attack in the North Nigerian state Niger.
The media reported that the military column was ambushed by members of the armed gang on the Zunger-Tigin highway in Niger.
As a result of the attack, 26 troops were killed, eight more were injured.
Following the incident, a military helicopter of the Nigeria Air Force directed to the region.
North Nigeria is faced with a serious security crisis due to the rampant armed gangs. The militants are involved in many crimes, including the abduction of people in order to obtain a ransom, robberies and murders.
