At Egyptian conference, agreements have been signed in amount of € 67.7 billion

Following the results of the Egypt and the EU conference, 35 agreements totaling 67.7 billion euros signed. This was announced by the Prime Minister of Egypt Mustafa Madbuli.

The conference held last weekend was attended by Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi, the head of the European Commission Ursula von der Lyaine and the Prime Minister of Egypt Mustafa Madbuli.

The statement of the EU delegation in Cairo says that the conference has become “one of the first important results of a strategic and comprehensive partnership, agreed between Egypt and the European Union in the political and economic regions in March 2024”.

In his speech at the conference, the President of Egypt said that relations between his country and the EU are developing in various fields of cooperation.

As-Sisi recalled that in March last year a political declaration was signed, the purpose of which is to raise relations between the two parties to the level of strategic and comprehensive partnerships.

Speaking at the final meeting of the conference, the Prime Minister Madbuli said that they want to hold a conference every year to support joint cooperation with the EU.

He noted that at the conference 35 agreements were signed totaling 67.7 billion euros in areas such as “green hydrogen, electric cars, infrastructure, sustainable transport, communications and information technologies.”
