Samsun (AA) – The artillery caliber system of 30×113 mm will make a significant contribution to the firing power of various Turkish platforms, from manned/unmanned ground vehicles to helicopters and unmanned combat aircraft.
The gun was developed by the Turkish company Canik together with the British AEI Systems. Canik recently acquired AEI Systems, thus receiving the ability to produce medium -caliber guns.
According to Anadolu, Canik will present the possibilities of the system developed by it at the 16th International Office of the Defense Industry (IDEF 2023), which will be held in Istanbul July 25-28.
It is expected that the Venom LR gun of 30×113 mm caliber will play a significant role in satisfying the needs of friendly and allied countries, and mainly the Turkish Armed Forces.
more and more “on the battlefield” is increasing the need for quick -firing guns with low dedication.
30×113-mm automatic artillery systems, which were previously perceived as a special solution only for combat aviation platforms with a motionless and rotor-wing wing, began to be considered as a weapon of the nearest future for manned and unmanned ground, sea and air vehicles.
Venom LR, in particular, is considered to satisfy such needs thanks to the 30×113 caliber used, slight weight and low returns.
In an interview with Anadolu, Canik General Director Jahit Duck Aral said that the acquisition of AEI Systems is the first example of how the Turkish investor invests funds in a licensed defense company in the UK.
According to him, AEI Systems is a company that produces drum guns such as Aden 65 years ago and British versions of Oerlikon guns. “AEI Systems is the second company in the UK producing these products after BAE Systems,” Aral said.
