Attorney In Affairs Of Argentina In Tehran Was Called To Iran Foreign Ministry

Iran called an attorney in Argentina’s affairs in Tehran to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in connection with the charges of the Argentinean judicial system against Iranian officials.

According to the written statement of the Iranian Foreign Ministry, the attorney in Argentina’s affairs in Tehran was called to the Ministry to express the protest of the Argentinean judicial system against the Iranian officials in connection with the case of an attack on the Association of Argentine Jews (Amia).

Having described the accusations of the Argentine judicial system against Iranian officials as “an action that violates international traditions and principles”, the statement says that the Director General of North and South America, Isa Kamili, handed over to the official protest of Iran to the Argentine attorney in the affairs and condemned this initiative.

Kamili called the accusations “unreasonable” and stated that this behavior harms diplomatic relations between the two countries.

The statement does not indicate who these Iranian officials are.

According to the reports of the Argentine press, last week the country’s judicial authorities requested the arrest of the Supreme Leader of Iran Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, claiming his role in the terrorist attack in Amia.

The attack in Amia

July 18, 1994 in Buenos Aires, a van drove into the Association of Argentinean Jews of the Argentine Jews and exploded, as a result of which the six-story building completely collapsed, 85 people died and more than 300 were injured.

The responsibility for the terrorist attack was assigned to Iran and Hezbollah, orders were issued for the detention of Iranian officials allegedly involved in this case, and an application was submitted to Interpol for their arrest.
