The military who came to power in Myanmar accused the former leader of the country, State Councilor Aung San Suu Kyi, of illegally receiving $ 600,000 and a slightly larger amount of gold. This was announced by Brigadier General Zo Min Tun, BBC News reports.
He did not provide any evidence of this.
The BBC notes that these are the most serious accusations made against Aung San Suu Kyi so far.
The general accused the President of the country Vin Myin and some ministers of corruption. Earlier, Myin was accused of violating the Constitution and violating the law on liquidation of the consequences of natural disasters, and Aung San Suu Kyi – of illegal export and use of portable radio stations and of violation of the law on emergency response.
