The first coins depicting the King of Great Britain Charles III will go into the appeal in Australia to Christmas. This was announced by the Director General of the Royal Mint Australia Lee Gordon.
According to Gordon, about 10 million coins in 1 Australian dollar will enter the circulation by Christmas.
Coins with the image of Elizabeth II will remain in circulation along with new coins with the image of the king.
In the beginning of the year, Australia reported that the portrait of King Charles III will not be placed on a new bill with a face value of $ 5.
Elizabeth II died on September 8 at the Balmoral castle in Scotland at the age of 96.
