Austria adopted a law on mandatory vaccination

On Saturday, February 5, in Austria, the law began to act, requiring the majority of adults to vaccinate against COVID-19 – thus the country became the first in Europe with compulsory vaccinations, reports “European True”.

The law was published in the “federal legislation” on Friday, February 4, and entered into force the next day. The upper chamber of the Austria parliament approved the project, two weeks before the project approved the lower chamber.

The requirement applies to all persons living in Austria over 18 years old. Exceptions are made for pregnant women and those who cannot be vaccinated by the state of health, as well as to a limited degree – and for recovered after illness.
