AV Baku discussed cooperation of Azerbaijan with World Bank

On Friday, September 22, Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev adopted the regional director of the World Bank for the South Caucasus Roland Price. This was reported by the press service of the head of state.

Azerbaijani leader was involved in the World Bank for supporting the modernization and diversification of the economy of Azerbaijan.

He noted that in recent years, cooperation is at a high level. Ilham Aliyev emphasized the importance of determining future specific directions and projects.

The head of state said that Baku has been making efforts to reduce external debt for many years and this goal has already been achieved.

Having expressed satisfaction with Azerbaijan for 30 years, Roland Price noted that today Azerbaijan has achieved significant development and high results.

The meeting discussed the current areas of the World Bank in Azerbaijan, new directions and projects facing the country in accordance with the “National Priorities of Socio-Economic Development: Azerbaijan 2030”

It was emphasized that the main areas of cooperation between Azerbaijan and the World Bank are related to projects implemented in the field of renewable energy, “green” economy and cities, transport links, agriculture and irrigation.
