In the Baku Court of Appeal, the appeal of the head of the Xural TV Avaz Zeynallla was examined.
Avaz Zeynallae protested the collegium of judges (Hasana Akhmedova, Ilgar Murguzov and Gabil Mammadova). But this protest was not satisfied.
Speaking at the trial, the Avaz Zeynallah called the accusation in a bribe far -fetched, noting that his arrest was registered. According to him, a new version of the scenario of his arrest in 2011 was involved.
Avaz Zeynalla complained that during a search in his house, prosecutors seized funds intended to pay for the education of his children. According to him, this is money from compensation by decision of the European Court and a profit for viewing on YouTube.
Avaza lawyer Zeynalla, Agil Lagidge filed a motion to replace a preventive measure against his client for house arrest, but the court rejected him.
As Haqqin.az reported in relation to the head of the Xural TV Internet telekanal, the journalist Avaz Zeynalla and lawyer Elchin Sadygov opened a criminal case under articles 311.3.3 and 32.5, 311.3.3 of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan. The statement of the Prosecutor General’s Office says that, having promised not to disseminate insulting information about the former head of Baku Steel Company Rasima Mammadov, Avaz Zeynalla in August 2022, with the mediation of lawyer Elchin Sadygov, received 20 thousand manat from Mamedov’s relatives as a bribe.
