The exchange of views on the agenda of mutual cooperation in the field of civil aviation took place at the meeting of AZAL President Jahangira Askerov with the Egyptian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Hisham Mohamed Nagi Abdel Hamid, the press service of Azerbaijani Airlines CJSC reported.
Azal President Jahangir Askurov congratulated the Egypt ambassador in Azerbaijan on his appointment and wished success in further diplomatic activities. Jahangir Askurov noted that regular air traffic is operating between the countries. Today, the Egyptian airline Air Cairo with a frequency of once a week performs flights from Baku to a resort city on the coast of the Red Sea of Sharm-Esh-Sheikh and vice versa.
HISHAM Ambassador Mohamed Nagi Abdel Hamid expressed gratitude to Jahangiru Askurov and emphasized the importance of developing partnerships in the field of civilian air transportation in order to expand the tourism potential of the two countries. He expressed interest in expanding the air offense between the two countries and the implementation of regular passenger and freight flights between Cairo and Baku.
AZAL President Jakhangir Askurov noted that the maximum assistance will be provided in the issues of passenger and freight transportation between Baku and Cairo, as well as increasing the frequency of flights along the Sharm-sho-sho-sharm-esh-shih route.
“In the case of the opening of passenger flights from Cairo to Baku, at the International Airport Heydar Aliyev in relation to Air Cairo, discounts will be applied in the order established by the airport,” said Jahangir Askurov.
