On Tuesday, April 5, a meeting of President Azal Jahangira Askerova and the Minister of Tourism of Israel Joel Domavod, the press service of Azerbaijan Airlines CJSC was told.
According to the report, the parties noted the high level of cooperation between countries, including in the field of civil aviation and tourism. Azal President and Israel’s Tourism Minister exchanged views on the possibilities of increasing the number of direct flights between the two countries due to the resulting high demand.
“After reflection by the countries of a number of restrictions on COVID-19, Israel became one of the first directions in which the Azerbaijani airline resumed regular flights. Currently, Azal Airline on the route Baku – Tel Aviv – Baku performs flights twice a week,” – said Jahangir Askerov.
Following the meeting, it was decided that within the framework of the summer schedule Azal will increase the number of flights to Tel Aviv to 5 times a week.
According to Jahangir Askerova, Israeli airlines ISRAIR Airlines and Arkia also issued permission to perform regular flights to Baku.
Israel’s tourism minister Yoel delivers noted that the increase in flights would continue to strengthen relations between Azerbaijan and Israel, as well as the expansion of tourist connections. He noted that there is mutual interest in the restoration of the former volume of air transportation between the countries.
At the meeting, an agreement was reached on further cooperation in order to strengthen the successful partnership in the field of civil aviation.
