Azerbaijan Airlines (AZAL) airlines suspenses all flights on the Baku -Astrakhan – Baku route for an indefinite period to ensure flight safety, the airline’s press service said.
The company noted that this decision is connected in connection with the recently observed, including today, the periodic closure of the airspace over Astrakhan (Russia).
Passengers who purchased tickets in this direction can, without a fine, arrange a full return or change the direction, the report said.
AZAL emphasized that the airline continues to carefully monitor the situation and timely inform passengers about any changes in the schedule.
Note, the Azerbaijani Azal Azerbaijani Air Airline, which operated on the Baku-Grozny route, crashed near the Kazakhstan city of Aktau on December 25. On board the aircraft were 67 people: five crew members and 62 passengers.
As a result of the crash, 38 people died, 29 survived.
