The Minister of Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan Rashad Nabiev met with the chairman of the state government of China Liu Jenfan.
According to the minister’s information on the Facebook page, the meeting took place during his visit to China.
He noted that during the meeting the prospect of further expansion of cooperation in the field of railways between the two countries was discussed.
Nabiev indicated that in the period from January to August 2024, the volume of transit cargo transportation by rail between Azerbaijan and China increased by 275 percent compared to the same period last year.
During the meeting, Liu Jenfan expressed the interest of China in the development of the southern route of the Middle Corridor and in the work of Middle Corridor Multimodal, created with the joint participation of the railways of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Georgia, added Nabiev.
