Azerbaijan and Georgia approved throughput at border

“6 checkpoints are defined to cross the state border between Azerbaijan and Georgia. This is reflected in the draft law “On approval of the Agreement between the Government of Azerbaijan and the Government of Georgia on the reception points on the state border between the two countries.”

According to the project, the following checkpoints will be between Azerbaijan and Georgia.

1. For regular, international, passenger and freight:

Railway

– “Beyuk-Kyasik” (Azerbaijan) – Gardabani (Georgia);

Car

– “Red Bridge” (Azerbaijan) – “Red Bridge” (Georgia);

– “Mazimgar” (Azerbaijan) – “Codna” (Georgia).

2. Joint, international, car checkpoints for permanent automobile, passenger and freight:

– “Silk Road” (Azerbaijan) – “Abreumis” (Georgia);

3. For regular, interstate passenger and freight traffic:

Car and pedestrian:

– “Sadakhla” (Azerbaijan) – “Vakhtangishi” (Georgia)

4. For seasonal interstate, passenger and freight communication only for citizens living in border areas (in summer hours from 08:00 to 21:00, in winter – from 08:00 to 18:00):

Car and pedestrian

“Muganla” (Azerbaijan) – “Samtatatskar” (Georgia).

According to the document, the competent authorities of the parties to individual protocols will determine the principles for the use of border and customs procedures in relation to goods and vehicles moving to the joint bandwidth “Silk Road” – “Abreushumis”.

This agreement enters into force from the date of receipt by diplomatic channels of the last written notification of the parties to the implementation of domestic procedures necessary for its entry into force.

The document notes that the intersection by persons of automotive checkpoints across the border can be carried out both using transport and on foot.
