Azerbaijan and Russia discusses status of Caspian

Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry held bilateral consultations between Azerbaijan and Russia on the issues of the Caspian Sea, the press service of the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry reports.

The Azerbaijani side for consultations was presented by the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, a special representative of the President of Azerbaijan on the border and the Caspian Sea Khalaf Khalafov, and the Russian – Ambassador to the special instructions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, a special representative of the President of Russia for delimitation and demarcation of the State Border of the Russian Federation with States – CIS Mikhail Petrakov.

The meeting discussed issues in connection with the implementation of the Convention on the Legal Status of the Caspian Sea, activities related to the preparations for the next Caspian Summit at the level of the heads of state, as well as draft agreements between the Caspian states on cooperation in this area, which are currently Time is at the coordination stage.

The meeting also held a wide exchange of views on the agenda and holding the next meeting of the high-level working group on Caspian.
