One of the priority areas of the Ministry of Education is a transparent organization of the managerial process in general educational institutions. In this regard, for the more prompt appointment of school principals for vacant places for the new school year, selection is held according to the new rules.
According to the head of the personnel department of the Ministry of Education of Azerbaijan, Azgi Bagirov, the activities of school principals directly affect the quality of the educational process, therefore, in recent years, the appointment of school directors is held centralized under the control of the Ministry of Education.
Today, about 600 vacant places for the position of school principal are opened in Azerbaijan. Most vacant places belong to schools with a small number of students.
As E. Bagirov noted, the increase in vacant places is associated with the retirement age of school principals, as well as the monitoring of the Ministry and the detection of offenses by directors. Before the start of the new school year, it is planned to fill out most vacant places. For this, according to the new rules, regional education departments were entrusted with the organization and selection of directors to vacant places. This process will be carried out under the supervision of the Ministry of Education.
Speaking of the rules of selection, E. Bagirov said that in schools with a number of students less than 150 people, hiring directors is carried out in the following order: local education authorities announce on their official pages on social networks, in which schools there are vacant places. Next, the documents of candidates and their analysis are collected. The next step is the interview, which is also carried out in the field. Further, regional education authorities send a list of recommended candidates for the Ministry of Education, after which they are appointed to the position of director.
Head of the personnel department also noted that in schools where the number of students varies from 151 to 500 people, in addition to the interview, candidates must undergo a test exam. Exams and interviews are conducted by regional education departments.
Today, the stage of receiving documents for vacant places has ended. About 1,500 people were registered. Next week the stage of tests and interviews will begin.
