Azerbaijan: certificates of vaccination from COVID-19 are indefinite

In Azerbaijan, certificates of vaccination against coronavirus infection are indefinite. This is stated in a joint statement of the Ministry of Health, the State Agency for Compulsory Health Insurance and Association on the Management of Medical Territorial Divisions (Təbian).

According to the report, the issue of the duration of the preservation of immunity will be reappeared after the publication of the results of research and recommendations of WHO and other international organizations in the field of healthcare.

“The third dose of Coronavirus vaccine is recommended to introduce persons entering a high-risk group, which includes health workers, citizens older than 60 years and suffering from autoimmune diseases, six months after receiving the second dose,” the statement says.

It is also emphasized that the emergence of new strains of coronavirus increases the importance of revaccination.

The statement notes that the third dose of coronavirus vaccine is important to prevent the imminent immune system of the human body and ensures the durability of antibodies to COVID-19.
