The special services of Azerbaijan detained a citizen of Afghanistan in Baku, who planned a terrorist attack in the republic. This was reported on Monday by the State Security Service of Azerbaijan (SGB).
The detention was carried out within the framework of operational investigative measures to combat terrorist, provocative and intelligence and subversive activities directed against the national security and state interests of Azerbaijan.
According to SGB, Afghan citizen Fazan Musan Khan born in 1990 planned terrorist acts in Azerbaijan, as well as arson and other actions that could lead to the death of people and damage the country’s infrastructure. The plan was aimed at violating public order and creating panic among the population.
Fausan Musa Khan was detained as a suspect, and then arrested. Investigative actions continue to identify its accomplices.
