In 2021, the number of abortions in Azerbaijan increased from 34,719 to 46,877 compared to 2020, the State Committee on Family, Women and Children’s Problems for 2021, discussed today at a meeting of the Milli Majlis Committee on Family issues, women and children.
It was noted that women aged 30-34 years were more often abortion. In the age group of 15-19 years, the number of abortions almost doubled compared to 2020.
The report also states that in 2021 the number of minor women in labor was 1650, which is 267 less than in 2020.
In 2021, the number of women who died as a result of domestic violence amounted to 46, of which 44 became victims of intentional murder, 2 – died of injuries.
